The Chaotic update last week upgraded the collection and the army sections of the Chaotic website. But on top of that an entire list of cards from Silent Sands has also been released! This means that we can all see the new cards, come up with new strategies, view the awesome art, and marvel at all the new options that they give us, before the cards even come out! Anyhow even though all these amazing cards have been shown, the coolest mechanic is without a doubt the Warbeasts from the mipedian tribe.
The Warbeasts are such an interesting idea as well but in game and in the Chaotic lore. From what I’ve gathered, the Mipedians have some how achieved (or for some unknown reason they’ve always had the ability but oddly kept it secret until now) the ability to control crazy powerful beasts. They do so with the conjurer, a new creature type presumably exclusive to the Mipedian tribe. Anyhow the conjurer’s are kind of like the lion tamers, they keep the beasts calm and in control and make sure that they only attack opponents… not teammates.
The addition of Warbeasts also provides the Mipedians with other options than simply “Lets use invisibility”, This addition means that Mipedians are no longer one trick ponies… their now two trick ponies… but their tricks are very nice, so its all good. Not to mention that the Warbeasts themselves are really and I mean REALLY cool looking! I mean their huge, dangerous, and all neon colored, whats not to like? Plus they can basically beat up Chaor and the entire underworld in an arm wrestling match, I mean honestly look at Blazvatan’s stats:

The only problem, take a look at how bad the stats are for conjurers…So, in order to stop Blazvatan from killing himself in 2 turns, you need at least 2 conjurers who can reduce the recklessness, at least by 10 damage each…O well…Kolmo, Malvadine, Blazvatan, Marquis Darini and 2 conjurers…sounds good :)
Well the idea is to only use Warbeasts and conjurers, with 3-4 beasts and 2-3 conjurers.
That’s what i don’t like. They did not give tools to improve the Mipedian deck, they gave another way of playing it. Before SS, you could either go with an Invisibility build, or an air elemental build. Trying to mend the two together causes a lack of good attack cards. I manage it well because my Kolmo has fairly decent speed (add to that a mowercycle), making him able to use the speed cards as well as the air cards…but now, with Warbeasts, it’s a whole new strategy. Mixing invisible creatures with air creatures, conjurers and warbeasts weakens the deck exponentially. Tribes shouldn’t get 3 or 4 different ways of playing them. They should be able to build on a strategy and let players put their own spin on how to use the strategies. I haven’t noticed any cards in SS that helps improve invisibility builds. I was really looking forward to improving my Mipedian deck, and now, i notice i’m going to have to change my plan of attack completely. Ok, i’m done blowing off steam lol.

It is true that the warbeasts lack when place in a team of less than six.
if you play Mipedian (which I myself don’t) warbeasts can be a great addition to an ivisibility build.

i have a question, if i use a conjuror to decrease recklessness damage to a war beast does slash claw and harnessed rage still do the same damage because im decreasing recklessness damage, not value?

I am 98% it doesen’t decrease the damage, there was a post on chaoticgame.com about that, I never saw if a mod. answered the question though. I hope this helped you out.

ya, those warbeasts are practically unstoppable with conjurers in the back reducing their recklessness, i wonder if anyone has beaten a blazvatan who had no recklessness due to conjurers. That’d be hard! (without a maxxor or chaor of course)
if ya use a stone mail the war beast dat is equiped loses all reclesness… plus they gain 50 enegy!!! i versed someone with a titanix and stone mail in 1v1 and i had 2 use gear grind 2 make him kill himself w.reklessness and 55 damage
if youve got a warbeast do anything u can to get a stone mail or vice versa specially if u like 1v1 like i do

if u have a blazvatan and a amazing -25 recklessness conjuror unless u just don’t know how to play you will win. A blazvatan once took out my chaor and max pyrithion and takinom without breaking a sweat. He had stone mail and had at least 95-100 energy after every battle.

By the way it only gives him an extra 50 energy so he would have around 130. plus all attacks do an additional 5 damage come one i am pretty sure any decent player could do more than 30-40 damage plus you could just play mugic to destroy the battlegear then what will you do?

I have a warbeast deck with blazvatan,Euboraan,ere,and some conjurs
Course warbeasts aren’t unbeatable… Using range and stuff is a good way to target them. I like to put a mandiblor up front so when he gets coded, I can use Kannen to bring him back beside a conjuror, and boom :D
That’s all gonna change once Gaffat-ra gets into play though.
