Hello and greetings fellow chaoticeers… (if thats a word)
I am very happy to finally announce the end of our month long contest. It may be a day (or two… late) but I have read, evaluated, and comparing all of the entries , then whittled the entries down to a total of 5 new authors. So I congratulate the following five new members, their articles will be posted below them, and to all the ones who didn’t make it (or didn’t apply) fret not, since I will be holding another author contest in the foreseeable future.

Building with a Budget!
The title says it all! Building with a budget is always a challenge, but a fun one! This deck focuses on letting your oppenent have very little control with what happens in the game. This type of deck is called a control deck. A control deck for Choatic would be not letting your oppenents chose the creature they are attacking by using the new defender ability or by controling some other aspect of the game. This deck uses some cards such as the location Ravanaugh Ridge, which allows you to look at your attack deck as the battle begins. Other cards also include Ember Swarm and Lightning Burst, which lower the opposing engaged creatures stats that we are focusing on.
Firstly we’ll start with the creatures. For creatures were going to use a very unlikely combination. Were going to use Marquis Darini, Uro and Tianne. Now right away you’ll realize that this is a very unique combo. This is a good thing because if your battleteam is unique chances are that they will have no idea how to combat it. Which is good. Now that you’ve had a look at the creatures you’ll notice that we only have two mugic counters and that there stats are similar(ish) 60-70 wisdom and 50-70 power. Now for Battlegear
The Battlegear is rather imporatant in this battleteam. Firstly we need another mugic counter, so far the only way to do this would be a mugician’s lyre. So i put on Uro the infamous Elementist Pauldrons! So that Uro Now has the fire and earth elements. As for the marquis? The mugician’s lyre! and lastly we have Tianne, put something like a prism of vacuity so he can sacrifice it to lower the oppenets power by 20!
For mugic we will use the Mipedian mugic Fanfare of the Vanishing, which gives creatures Invsibilty strike 15, so we will use this twice. For our final mugic we shall use… Switch Riff so we can Switch out Marquis Darini for Uro just before they are engaged so that your oppenent is forced into attacking Uro.
Now the deck should look like this!
{Marquis Darini} {Uro}
{Mugician’s Lyre} {Elementist Pauldrons}
{Tianne}
{Prism of Vacuity}
For attacks we want to use attacksthat have to do with Fire and Air elements. Here is an example one…
2 Torrent of Flame (4)
2 Lightning Burst (2)
2 Elementist Psy-Blast (2)
2 Ember Swarm (2)
2 Sleep Sting (4)
2 Flashwarp (0)
2 Powerpulse (4)
2 Inicerase (0)
2 Unsanity (2)
2 Quick Exit (0)
________________
Total (20)
Now with location we also want things that promote Fire and Air
2 Ravanaugh Ridge
2 Mipedim Oasis
2 Sands of the Unseen
2 Underworld Colosseum
2 Storm Tunnel
Now this is built using no cards over the rarity rare, which makes it easy to build and is playable. Now don’t expect it to win you any battles angainst a Bloot or Chaor, but if it does let me know!
Notes…
+If Maquis Darini is engaged use the Fanfaree of vanishing on him beacuase his ability will work on himself!
+Don’t Sacrifice Tianne unless you are Absoulutly sure ther is no way he will win (EG His is down to his last creature with no mugics left and at 25 energy)
+Try to use a variation of the attack and location decks (try to get some nice super rares such as Sha-Kree Flats)

Tactical Disposition Part 1 of 4
As the title says this is 1 of 4 please bear with me as I right out the others for the other three tribes. Until tide yourself over with this article on the Overworld.
As Sun Tzu said the perfect strategiest secures himself from defeat and then seeks battle. Now when Sun Stu said this he was reffering to a nation to nation war, however, this can be compared to a mid to large scale chaotic match. As we all have noticed the larger the battle the more strategy it takes, reffering of course to battlegear and creature placement. This is easier than you think. Let’s take a look at all of the tribes to select what might be the best strategical layout for your army might be.
OVERWORLD
The overworld creatures usually do better when clumped next to eachother. They can also use defender to support weak spots and to defend against skeletal steeds from killing our precious mugic batteries. Lets take a look at what would be a pretty decent team for 6v6, Heptadd, Ranzus, Lomma, Maglax, Crawsectus and Rellim. Now in order to look at this from the best strategical standpoint lets forget about mugic, battlegear and locations. The attacks we won’t worry about since were not going to be battling any creatures. So now to get back to the line up. How would one be ready for any attack on their creatures, especially when your mugic counters are thin, simple use Lomma’s defender to fill the gap. To show you what I mean Lets use this set up going from right to left, Crawsectus, Maglax, Heptadd. Now row two, Lomma and then Rellim, remember this is still from right to left. And of course that puts Ranzus in back. Now how does this look? With your three main combatants up front we have a good front line, then we can use Lomma to fill in the gap of Maglax getting hit at a bad location, Crawsectus from getting attacked by a creature to build up attacks, and then if someone managed to get to Ranzus then Lomma can still block that from happening. The reason we put Rellim next to her is because he can take Heptadd’s place or if the oppostion see’s they will have to deal with Lomma sooner or later, and they aim for her and destroy her they just parked themself next to a pretty decent creature capable of taking out a decent Magmon. Now with all of this defense you might be thinking OK we can stop an enemy from killing us when they attack but how about when we attack, this is also brought into play by our choice of creatures. Think about it, Lomma is capable of holding her own asw is Rellim. Ranzus with the right stats can last a decent while, and even destroy another creature with the right attacks. Then of course is there is our front line, Heptadd with the proper player is very formidable, as is Maglax and everyone knows Crawsectus can plow through tons of creatures. Now this is but one of many line ups and the main reason I used theese is because they are well known creatures and it is easier to understand then using a huge elaborate set up with three defenders and everything else. Also I chose to base this on 6v6 because it is the middle ground between 3v3 and 25v25. Please comment and if you liked this but don’t play with overworlders hang in there because my next artticle will be about my tribe the underworlders. Untill then see ya’.
I really hope this is good as I can write out the other three, and would love to publish them, also my microsoft crashed so I couldn’t type this out there and then attach it, so forgive the spelling mistakes, please write me back as soon as possiblle as I am eager to her what you have to say. As lat time tell me where to improve.

OverWorld Madness!!
With the release of Silent Sands, the third chaotic set, a lot of new game mechanics have been released and a lot of powerful new cards. I’m an OverWorld player so in this article i will highlight two of my favorite cards from the new set that provide tremendous support for the OverWorld player.
The first card is Arbeid. Arbied is an OverWorlder with pretty bad stats. His highest stat is his wisdom which maxxes out at 60. His other stats just go down hill from there.
Courage: 45
Power: 30
Wisdom: 50
Speed: 35
Energy 35
Now for such a massive and cool looking creature you’d think he would have at least high power. As an add on he has the water element which is wierd because for this big guy you would also think he would have the earth element instead. But thats where his faults stop. He has an incredible effect. Once per turn at the cost of one mugic counter he can make any attack card played deal 5 damage instead. Not only that but he comes with 2 mugic counters! Now around where i play there’s a mix deck i have trouble defeating because it combines the power of invisibility with the destructive damage of the UnderWorld. Arbied is the ultimate invisibility stopper. Not only that but element based decks can hit for enormous damage as well. So when you’ve got an allmageddon attack facing you down the answer is Arbeid. But you have to use Arbeid’s effect wisely because you’ll only get to do it to one attack and you have to make it matter. And he’s only an uncommon which i dont think does him justice but i’m not complaining.
Now the second card i will be reviewing is an OverWorld mugic by the name of Strain Of The Tide. This has become one of my favorite mugic cards ever. It’s a super rare 0 cost mugic. By removing as many OverWorld creatures in your discard pile as you want from play you can heal 10 damage to target creature per card removed. Now about a month ago this card would have made a game for me. I was staring down two Brathes, a Prince Mudeenu, and a Garve with only my Maxxor, an aqua shield, and 1 mugic counter. Somehow i won but that’s not the point, back then this card would have saved me a lot of time and hassle. The ability to heal 50 energy in one shot is massive. This is one of those cards that can make or break a game. If your down to no mugic counters and youve got one creature facing a massive threat then this card could win it for you. It’s so unexpected too which is one of my favorite parts about this card. Usually when you have no mugic counters but you’ve still got a mugic card in you hand your opponent dismisses it and get’s ready to destroy your last creature. That’s when you smile and lay this badboy down on the field. This, like Arbeid needs to be used wisely as well. You don’t want to use it to early in the game otherwise it could cost you at the end when you need it the most. And that is my chaotic article. (I would’ve added pic’s but i didn’t know how too hopefully ill figure it out. Thanks for the oppurtunity.)
Matthew Itovitch
Well, Poketkoi brought you the worst, but what about the best? Well there was no way I could make a Top 5 list. I tried for hours, but there was no way I could pull it off without pissing off the entire Chaotic community, so I did the next best thing, a Top 10. Now, it would have been way too easy to slam the Big 4 on the list and call it Kahuna, so before I began, I set some ground rules. #1 Every card on the list must be a card in either Dawn of Perim or Zenith of the Hive. #2 Every card on the list must have a rarity below super. #3 Every card on the list must have maintained their “awesomeness” factor throughout the release of the game, no fading flowers here! Is your fave card on the list, or are their some hidden talents you may not have considered. Well, you sat through the worst, now here’s the best. Time for the Top 10 Chaotic Cards!
#10 Grook
I just made an enemy out of every Underword player in Chaotic. I’m sure most of you think Grook should have made it higher on the Top 10, but look on the bright side, if Grook’s #10, you know this is going to be a kick ass list. Everyone knows Grook’s the epitome of power, tying for #1 with Von Bloot, but besides his fists, what’s Grook got going for him? Well, between his above average speed, access to Fire attacks, Intimidate ability and decent energy, you got yourselves one beast of a creature. Seriously, with 120 Power max, and a Power 10 Intimidate, its like beating the shit out of someone, then spitting on his face. Only downside, Grook’s not only stupid but he’s also kind of a coward. With courage and wisdom bordering at lowest 20 and 10 each, nearly any creature has the potential to outplay him. With the release of Silent Sands, sadly, Grook will lose his position as #1 Powerhouse to Blazvatan , but I think this card will still see play throughout the game’s lifetime. Even though he may not be the most well rounded creature, overall, Grook more than earns his place on the Top 10 list.
#9 Odu-Bathax
This is where my list may differ from most people’s. I bet most people are thinking; “Why is Odu-Bathax on the list, he kind of sucks.” Well you are right, he does kind of suck, with only one mugic counter, average stats all around and average energy, there’s nothing too special about this card, well except for his ability. Bottom line, his effect rules. The reason Odu Bathax makes into the Top 10 are two lines of text; “Odu-Bathax gains 5 Energy for each Mandiblor you control.” It’s just like the Hive ability, except for the Hive part. That’s the point, it doesn’t need Hive to be active, it always is. For each Mandiblor you have in play, Odu-Bathax just becomes a bigger tank. He may not look like much in 3 on 3, but just imagine how he looks in 28 on 28. Any creature that has the potential to have 200 energy, and benefit from Melody and Strike of the Meek deserves a place on my list. Even better, since the release of Zenith, Mandiblors don’t just mean the ones in your army. Odu and Infection are the Bread and Butter of any Danian army, and for that reason he gets the honor of #9. Well, that and the fact he’s voiced by the same guy who plays Tyranno Hassleberry from Yu-Gi-Oh GX. Seriously, that voice is just hilarious.
#8 Supercharged Alterant
What Odu-Bathax does in hordes, Supercharged Alterant does in small numbers, except even better. A decent piece of Battlegear by itself, in small numbers, it just gets even better. In 1 on 1 combat, even the puniest creature can become a titan, or the dumbest creature a prodigy. Best part, you choose the discipline it modifies, so you can play to your weaknesses. Even a Maxxor or Chaor cant stand up to a beefed up Frafdo or Ibiaan. The only downside about this card is its greatness becomes less and less profound in larger games. Otherwise this card gets my seal of approval, awesome. Having Garv with this piece of gear is one of the best 1 on 1 strategies out there to date, and with the release of silent sands, which includes an assortment of battlegear themed cards, I believe it will be seeing much more play. That makes this #8.
#7 Canon of Casualty/Song of Resurgance/Thrills of Dimunition
For #7, we have a three way tie. If you don’t like it, make your own list. I know it’s a bit odd, but it had to be done, because these three tie on all levels. All three are staples in their respective armies, each is the best mugic out there for its task, whether it be healing, damage or control, and each completely changes the course of a turn, or game if you count 1 on 1. Have a 40 energy creature, throw down a Canon of Casualty to cut his energy down to 20. Down to 5 energy, need just 1 more turn, Song of Resurgance gives you enough to survive nearly any assault. Facing a Lore, nullify his ability with a handy Thrills of Diminuation. If I had to choose 1, it would have to be Thrills of Dimunition, and not only because I am a Mipedian player, but because you can null your own abilities as well, and with the release of Warbeasts, Thrills of Diminuition makes it possible to play 1 on 1 Warbeasts, and that’s just killer. I know most of you Danian buffs out there are not too happy that it wasn’t a four way tie, but there just isn’t a definitive Danian mugic out there……….yet. But keep on reading, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
#6 Brathe
By far one of the best Mipedians out there, Brathe had to make it somewhere on this list. Blending the fine points of high energy, 15 damage Invisibility, 3 decent stats and a mugic counter, Brathe is one of the most well rounded Mipedians in the game. In any invisibility themed army, Brathe is a staple card, because he dominates every aspect of that army type; speed, courage, wisdom, stealth, and just look at that card art. He owns, and looks good doing it. While he may not be a Royal, he outshines Prince Mudeenu in any game. Anybody think I am wrong, send me a challenge, me and my man Brathe are ready.
Congratulations!
